The Association of Custom House Agents Thiruvananthapuram, popularly known as ACHAT, is an Association of Customs Brokers of Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Vizhinjam Sea Port and Kollam Port. ACHAT is licensed by the Commissioner of Customs, under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962. The Trivandrum CHA Association, established in 1987 by the licensed CHA’s and registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act XII of 1955, was the first of its kind in Trivandrum. In 2003, it was renamed as The Association of Custom House Agents Thiruvananthapuram (ACHAT) and registered vide Reg. No: T.779/08

The responsibilities of Custom Brokers have undergone a transformation over the years. Initially serving as simple clearing agents, they have now evolved into comprehensive Global Logistics Providers. The role of ACHAT plays a crucial part in adapting to these evolving changes.

The Association aims to welcome individuals, institutions, companies, and corporations licensed under the Customs Broker Regulations within the jurisdiction of the Preventive Commissionerate(s) of Customs (Kerala) under Thiruvananthapuram Zone or other relevant jurisdictions. It seeks to organize training courses related to customs, indirect taxes, import, export, freight forwarding, supply chain, logistics, port management, and skill development. Additionally, the Association strives to support the prosperity and growth of its members’ businesses, address their grievances, protect them from unfair practices, collaborate with similar associations, gather and share relevant information, advocate for members’ interests with various authorities, and collect funds to fulfill its objectives effectively.
